Overview

Combining Ladakh's cold desert with Kashmir's green valley makes for one of the most dramatic itineraries we run — Pangong Tso's changing blues, the Khardung La high-altitude pass, then a drop down into Srinagar's houseboats and Mughal gardens. We build in an acclimatisation day in Leh before any high-pass driving, since altitude sickness is the one thing that derails this trip if you skip it.

Day-wise Itinerary

1. Day 1

   Arrive Leh

   Airport pickup, rest day for acclimatisation to the altitude.

2. Day 2

   Leh Local Sightseeing

   Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace, local market.

3. Day 3

   Leh to Nubra Valley

   Drive over Khardung La to Nubra, camel ride at Hunder dunes.

4. Day 4

   Nubra to Pangong Tso

   Drive to Pangong Lake via Shyok route, evening by the lake.

5. Day 5

   Pangong to Leh

   Return drive to Leh, evening at leisure.

6. Day 6

   Leh to Srinagar

   Flight to Srinagar, evening shikara ride on Dal Lake, houseboat check-in.

7. Day 7

   Srinagar Sightseeing

   Mughal Gardens, old city markets, houseboat overnight.

8. Day 8

   Gulmarg or Pahalgam Excursion

   Day trip to Gulmarg for the Gondola cable car, or Pahalgam's valleys.

9. Day 9

   Departure

   Transfer to Srinagar airport for your onward flight.
